Chrystel Regord est agrégée en arts plastiques. Elle commence par être peintre et petit à petit la photographie s' immisce dans sa peinture jusqu'à l'éclipser. Son travail traite de la mémoire, de ces images qui surgissent ou disparaissent avec le temps, se transforment, elle essaie de fixer les souvenirs qui s'évaporent, de leur donner une texture, une matière, de les associer à un support qui va rentrer en corrélation avec l'image. Elle cherche alors différents supports, ou plutôt elle récupère des supports que le hasard met sur sa route : des tôles rouillées, des vieux vinyles, des cailloux, des miroirs. Elle les choisit pour leur vécu, l'histoire qu'ils ont à raconter. La photographie est devenue l'axe principal de son travail mais c'est en tant que plasticienne qu'elle la traite, moins en tant que photographe.
