Anyone who has visited the Grand Canyon can testify of its almost unfathomable vastness, and of the extraordinary, almost spiritual presence of the place.
At least, this is the way I felt when I visited the site.
I have been painting floating stones for many years in my paintings. Because rock is such an iconic symbol of raw matter, these floating stones tend to symbolize Life (or Spirit) incarnated in matter.

In this piece, I wanted to bring together and connect all these elements: the Grand Canyon, representing the Sacred Space; the floating rock, representing the Spirit manifested through raw matter; the Shaman, who represents Humanity, and is the link between Spirit and matter.

This painting won an Honorable Mention at the prestigious 2023 ARC Painting Salon Competition.
Because of it, it got the incredible honor to be digitized or laser engraved into a Nickel micro-fiche to be part of the Polaris Collection, one of the four groups of artworks launching to the moon from 2022 to 2024, to be archived there, in the Nobile crater, for eternity.
