"Fine-Arts" prints on paper
It is a process of printing on art paper using very high-quality pigment inks and printed in very high definition. Its level of conservation is exceptional (more than 100 years), its quality, depth, and richness of nuances exceeds the classic photo print on Argentic paper.

Glossy finish
Apart from its exceptional thickness, the fiber paper is composed of an alpha-cellulose base without acid and it is covered with barium sulphate, and a microporous layer absorption enhancing pigments during printing. A pure white color, non-yellowing to light, this paper is especially designed for resistance and aging. It is used by major museums worldwide as it offers excellent resolution, rendering deep and dense colors.

We are visitors here. Origins unknown. Destination unknown. Why we are here is mysterious. And what we really are is also up for interpretation. Energy? Matter? In this latest body of work I’m exploring portraiture. These paintings are inspired by the ineffable essence of specific friends, family, and collectors.
My process involves dripping and pouring honey on paper, adding pigments and alcohol ink, painting and spreading with a palette knife, then removing everything. The surface of the paintings have no depth. They are completely flat, like some kind of abstract, handmade photograph.
We are visitors here. Origin unknown. Destination unknown. I’m drawn to exploring and improvising with materials. I’m fascinated by that which is invisible, knowable only in the abstract. I’m curious about the intersection between the physical and the metaphysical; the point where science can no longer adequately explain things. Art is my way of processing and coming to peace with the ambiguous and mysterious nature of being a human on Earth.
Cedar Miller is a painter/sculptor currently based in Montclair, NJ. As an adoptee, he has always grappled with feeling displaced, unmoored, not of this world. His practice centers around improvisation, intuition and the exploration of the intersection between the physical and the metaphysical; the point where science can no longer adequately explain things. He received his MFA from Otis College of Art and Design.
