Bhargavkumar Prakash Kulkarni is a contemporary Indian painter from Maharashtra, currently residing in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. He is a versatile artist who explores various mediums, though he has a strong preference for watercolors. His artistic practice is primarily inspired by his surroundings and the beauty of nature. Hailing from a small village, Bhargavkumar often bases his themes on the simple yet honest experiences of village life.
Bhargavkumar completed his G.D. Art in Drawing and Painting at Kalavishwa Mahavidyalaya in Sangli in 2008 and followed it with a Diploma in Art Education from the same institution in 2009. His talent and dedication to his craft have earned him significant recognition, including several awards and honors. These accolades include the Best Landscape from the Art Society of India in 2009 and the Raja Ravi Verma Best Portrait from the same society in 2014. In the same year, he also received the Best Watercolor Landscape award from The Bombay Art Society. Additionally, he won the first prize in the Close to Nature Plain Air competition organized by Art Plaza Gallery in 2014. Throughout his career, Bhargavkumar has been honored with 17 state-level awards, primarily in Plain Air Painting Competitions, underscoring his skill in capturing the essence of nature.
In addition to these, Bhargavkumar has shared his expertise and passion for art through various workshops and painting camps. He was an invited artist at the Plain Air Painting Workshop organized by the Nehru Center in Mumbai in 2009, and at the National Artist Plain Air Painting Workshop organized by the South Central Zone in Nagpur in 2012. Most recently, he participated in a painting camp organized by the Lalit Kala Academy India in Ayodhya in 2020.
