"And I will be facing the sea
who will bathe the pebbles.
Caresses of water, wind and air.
And light. Immensity.
And in me will be the desert.
It will only enter with a light sky.
And I will be facing the sea
who will come and beat the rocks.
And I will be facing the sea,
statue of flesh and heart of wood.
And will make me desert in me.
What will the time matter? Dark or light… "

Bernard Patarin, an artist passionate about painting and photography, shaped his artistic journey in a self-taught manner, guided by innate creativity. From a young age, he discovered an affinity for drawing, exploring the nuances of the brush and Indian ink. However, his professional career quickly consumed him, but he never stopped cultivating his love for visual art.
It was in 2002 that Bernard rediscovered his passion for painting, this time through pastel, vibrant with magnificent colors. He quickly evolved from impressionist figurative painting toward landscapes and abstract paintings, exploring the subtle play of light and shadow that transcends each canvas.
For Bernard, color, magnified by light, is at the heart of his artistic emotions. He seeks to understand the origin of these emotions and to capture them on canvas. For him, the search for beauty is an intimate and profound quest. Her painting sessions are inner journeys, precious moments that defy expression through words.
In technical terms, Bernard favors oil painting on linen, using brushes and knives to create works rich in texture and depth. He often begins with sketches on paper or wood panels, exploring different approaches to bring his artistic vision to life.
Despite his long-standing passion for art, Bernard took some time before sharing his work with the world. It was only in 2018 that he began to communicate and exhibit his creations, offering the public the chance to immerse themselves in his unique artistic universe, where emotions, colors and light blend harmoniously.
