For workshop paintings that bear evidence of master craftsmanship, this attribution must be further qualified. This wonderful print, was published by Ediciones Poligrafa, in Barcelona, Spain. It is large, and is printed on a thick Guarro paper. The colors are stunning, and this print is typical of the perfectionist work that Poligrafa is known for. These prints are from the H.C. edition of only 15. They are all done in small editions, and each is signed and numbered. Please inquire for specifics.

He is quoted as saying: "Because of my connection and collaboration with poets and writers such as María Zambrano, José Angel Valente, Pere Gimferrer, and Michel Butor, I developed a concept of the language of the clouds. This consisted basically of a grey background with white as the main color of my palette–the white symbolizing clouds. I also used pictograms, ideograms, and strange alphabets like the Greek alphabet, the Hebrew alphabet, and the Iberian alphabet". On another occasion Salinas was quoted as follows: "To me, painting is not work. It is something that transcends labor. I love to be in my studio painting because I forget about everything else. I’m so concentrated on it that it is like a meditation. I concentrate on what I’m doing and I enjoy it while I’m doing it. I enjoy seeing a wide space being developed into something that has life. It’s always been the most important thing in my life. And architecture was never so.” (Salinas trained as an architect at Kent State University).

Baruj Salinas is a Cuban-born artist of Sephardic Jewish heritage, best known for his abstract expressionist works that blend vibrant colors, textures, and symbols. Born in Havana in 1935, Salinas initially pursued architecture before shifting his focus entirely to art. His unique style, often characterized by layers of bold color and gestural brushwork, draws inspiration from nature, his Jewish heritage, and the landscapes of his travels.

Salinas moved to the United States in 1959, settling in Miami, Florida, where he became an influential figure in the local and international art scenes. His work has been featured in over 200 solo and group exhibitions across the globe, including galleries and museums in the United States, Latin America, Europe, and Israel. He is renowned for his ability to evoke deep emotions through abstract forms, often incorporating Hebrew letters, symbols, and mystical themes.

Throughout his career, Salinas has worked in a variety of media, including painting, printmaking, and sculpture.
