Barbara Vandendriessche is a photographer whose professional career began in the world of theater, where she worked for 20 years as a director and scenographer. However, photography gradually invaded his professional path, offering him a return to his roots and a new source of inspiration. While continuing to teach theater at the Luca School of Arts and working as a freelance set designer, she decided to tell her story through photography and sculpture.
In her photographs, Barbara creates settings that explore physical and psychological vulnerability. Its aim is to arouse emotions, to capture images of raw emotional intensity rather than precise intentions. His images have the power to tell a story without necessarily being narrative, inviting the viewer to feel and interpret the emotions that emerge.
Alongside photography, Barbara devotes herself to sculpture, exploring the theme of damage through the use of materials and the expression of emotions. His sculptures often depict broken, damaged or unfinished figures, but they always exude a certain spark, a glimmer of hope or life perceptible even in the midst of distress.
