Grandson and nephew of painters, Jose Arias learned to use color, light, and composition from a very early age. His official debut in photography was “Myanmar Words”, together with the writer A. Grandson and nephew of painters, Jose Arias learned to use color, light, and composition from a very early age. His official debut in photography was “Myanmar Words”, together with the writer A. Sirvent in 2011. However, he burst onto the scene with “Dead Souls” when it was chosen by Photoespaña Discoveries 2012 out of thousands of other works. Since then, he has won two other international prizes and participated three traveling exhibitions. Additionally, he is the main photographer participating in the research, exhibition, and book project about the mining regions of Asturias titled “Learning about the Mining" awarded in New York with Silver Medal as the best independent non fiction book. As well winning the most important heritage preservation award in Europe Nostra.
