Impossible to define yourself in a few words. Illustrator of many children's books for years, I have also helped to illustrate books for the general public. About ten years ago, I took up brushes for my pleasure. Like music, painting, drawing and sculpture make you vibrate, whether they relate to a real or fictitious universe, to a portrait or to nature. Everything is emotion, escape, beauty.

I paint as if I were going on a trip: a stage, a more or less long stopover. I try to distill an impression, a universal message or a simple reverie. If my preference is figurative, I sometimes explore other styles such as surrealism, genre scenes.
It'sa vast mosaic that I continue to explore. sketch and capture with my own perception on canvas, on paper, in color, in black and white.

If you go through Laon in the Aisne, you visit the cathedral, you discover a chapel dedicated to French and British soldiers of the 1st World War. My watercolor 'Men in Hell 1914/1918' is exhibited there. Between the symbolism of poppies and that of blueberries, an exchange has been established between the city of Durham (G.B.) and Laon.

Transmitting, exchanging, dialoguing have meaning when we evoke the human, the animal, the fragility of our world.
