Although everyone is used to consider tulips as a symbol of Holland, they were originally brought from Persia to Turkey in the 16th century. And the first mentions of this flower are found precisely in connection with Persia.
And the name "tulip" came from the Persian word toliban, which means "turban", because the flower bud resembles a turban. Now, a huge number of varieties of tulips have been bred, which have the shape of not only a turban.
Back in the 16th century, tulip breeding was first started in Turkey. And by the end of the century, almost 300 varieties of these flowers were bred. Tulips first came to Europe in 1559, when the German ambassador to the Turkish court sent bulbs to Augsburg
But it was in Holland that the issue of breeding new varieties was approached most seriously, and tulips became a symbol of this country.

All my artworks are made with oil paints on canvas and sometimes I enjoy how I can tame the properties of water with watercolorI use professional oil paints with natural pigments, my canvases are made of high quality Italian cotton or linen. All paintings are completely ready for hanging and do not need a frame: because the plot of the picture continues from the side.
