Whilst exploring the rocky beaches at low tide, one has such a wealth of interesting rockpools that are intriguing as well inspirational to create an original featuring the accumulation of shell and eroded pebbles; the striation left by the force of the waves add an extra dimension and texture. I have used gold acrylic with inks to represent the cracks and crevices with the embroidery to emphasis the ruggedness of the surface. The light of the gold replicates the wet sand which contrasts well with the blue and white ink for detail. A lovely textural piece that will keep the viewer discovering exciting marks and colour shifts.

Acrylic
