Motif / Theme:

The Erinyes or Erinyes (ancient Greek Ἐρινύες Erinýes, in the singular Ἐρινύς Erinýs, Latin Erinys, Erinnys) - also known to the Greeks as Μανίαι Maníai, German 'the mad ones', later as Eumenides (Εὐμενί δες Eumenídes), known by the Romans as Furies (furiae , from furia 'anger, frenzy') - are three goddesses of revenge in Greek mythology:

Alekto (Ἀληκτώ Alēktṓ), “the ceaseless (in her hunt)”

Megaira (Μέγαιρα Mégaira, German also “Megäre”), “the envious anger”.

Tisiphone (Τισιφόνη Tisiphónē, also Τεισιφόνη Teisiphónē), “the retribution” or “the one who avenges the murder”. She is often depicted on Greek amphorae with a dog's head and bat wings.

Lacquer

Paint made with a resin from tree sap, various shrubs or with lacquer paints based on thermosetting resins. The technique consists in superimposing layers of lacquers with a vigorous polishing between each layer. It is mostly smooth shiny, but can sometimes also be satin or very Matt.

Acrylic

Paint using traditional pigments mixed with synthetic resins.

Oil

Paint consisting of pigments bound with linseed oil or carnations. The traditional technique consists of superimposing layers of paint increasingly rich in oil for a solid and durable hanger.
