Alexander Putov (1940-2008) is an Israeli painter. Born in Kamensk (Russia). He starts drawing during his service in the army, then studies in Moscow in the Moscow Institute of Architecture. In 1973 he emigrates to Israel, where he thought it would be possible to create more freely. In 1986, he is invited in Paris to a international exhibition of comtemporary art (CIAC) and decide to stay in Paris. He starts working in the squats with russian artists of "Art-Cloche", including Yuri Titov, Alekcei Khvostenko, Valentin Samarine, Oleg Sokhanievitch... Then he moves with his wife to Gonesse in Paris suburbs, and then to Brittany, in the west of France. In 2003 starts Parkinson disease, and he dies 18 november 2008, after having completed his autobiography "Reality of fate", published in russian in Moscow in 2013.
