Albert Palma, a contemporary French artist, was born in 1947 in Bône, Algeria. His journey into the world of art began against the backdrop of diverse cultural experiences and academic pursuits. Initially studying literature at the University of Umea, Sweden, Palma eventually found himself drawn to the vibrant artistic scene of Paris, where he embraced a bohemian lifestyle.

In 1981, Palma's path led him to Tokyo, Japan, where he immersed himself in the study of Martial Arts under the guidance of Aoki Hiroyuki, a renowned Karate master and the founder of Shintaido. During his time in Tokyo, he also delved into academia, serving as a professor of comparative culture and French literature at the University of Tsukuba, at the invitation of Tadao Takemoto, a distinguished translator of André Malraux.

Returning to France in the early 1990s, Palma founded the Société des Gens de Gestes and embarked on a journey to develop an anthropology of gesture through the practice of the "Way of the Arts." A pivotal moment in his artistic evolution occurred in 2001 when he forged a profound working relationship with the writer and poet Henry Bauchau.

In 2003, Palma transitioned into the realm of painting, marking the beginning of a prolific artistic career. By 2006, his works began receiving regular exhibition opportunities, setting the stage for numerous significant encounters and collaborations, including Rémy Bucciali, with whom he produced his first engravings, and Pascal Quignard, who invited him to exhibit in Guéret during the Chaminadour meetings in 2010.

Palma's artistic legacy has been further cemented by prestigious accolades, such as the Henry Bauchau Prize, awarded to him by the Royal Academy of Belgium in 2013. His works adorn the collections of esteemed institutions including the Museum of Fine Arts of Cambrai, the Library of Uzès, the Royal Museum of Literature in Brussels, and the Catholic University of Louvain-La-Neuve, alongside numerous private collections spanning Europe, the United States, and beyond.

Today, Albert Palma's art enjoys widespread recognition, with his exhibitions gracing museums and galleries across Europe, including the royal Museum of Mariemont, the Louvain-La-Neuve Museum, and Guéret's Museum. With upcoming exhibitions planned in Paris, Santiago-Chile, New York, and Beijing, Palma's visionary creations continue to captivate audiences worldwide, transcending boundaries and enriching the global artistic landscape.
