My name is Alain Tardieu, I was born in Lozère one summer in 1968.
Of Lozère, I still have its wide open spaces, its lights and its wildness…
From the summer in which I was born, I have little left of a vague perfume…
At the start of adolescence, the need to draw arose…
…More than the need to create a connection, let’s say that drawing allowed me to better experience my somewhat wild side.
Young adult, enjoying living on the high plateau of Aubrac and a beautiful fireplace
So, by the fire, I began reading books recounting the lives of many painters.
At the same time I tried my hand at oil painting, letting myself be influenced by the painters I read and by the vast landscapes of Aubrac.
My painting after the years of learning took other paths…
I got closer to the body, to the portrait of a form of pictorial expressionism.
Less afraid to dare to let my emotions and my questions show through painting.
For a period, painting lived in muted…
Like a period of maturation without or with little creation…
Since June 2013, it has “remanifested itself”.
Strongly, impetuous without restraint as if liberated…
Obsessive...sometimes violent...Wanting to live at all costs...
That’s a bit of what I feel about her.
I know that the journey has only just begun…
I feel like a young painter.
Trying to reach, through this path made of lines, colors,
