La Frontière invisible (2020) Printmaking by Alain Lamy
Seller Alain Lamy
"Fine-Arts" prints on paper
It is a process of printing on art paper using very high-quality pigment inks and printed in very high definition. Its level of conservation is exceptional (more than 100 years), its quality, depth, and richness of nuances exceeds the classic photo print on Argentic paper.

Glossy finish
Apart from its exceptional thickness, the fiber paper is composed of an alpha-cellulose base without acid and it is covered with barium sulphate, and a microporous layer absorption enhancing pigments during printing. A pure white color, non-yellowing to light, this paper is especially designed for resistance and aging. It is used by major museums worldwide as it offers excellent resolution, rendering deep and dense colors.
Art Print "Fine Art" - Glossy finish on a fiber base paper 325 g.

Self-taught, Alain Lamy began painting around the age of 18. His career began with a short figurative period, in which he used almost exclusively the oil wash technique. The paintings “Self-portrait with sculpture” or “Presence” are beautiful examples of this...
1978, he crossed paths with Jean Delétraz, a very talented painter: From this meeting a beautiful friendship and fruitful exchanges on art were born, in Jean’s studio house in Yenne.
The following year, it was that of the painter André René Tardieu, in his studio in Loisieux where he discovered the old techniques of gilding with leaf or the application of texturing additives: (sand, charcoal, sawdust) that we will find happily exploited, on many paintings from the 1980s… Horizon rose / De noir et de cendres / Matin bleu / Infra-rose...
The 80s were for the painter, a period rich in often original creations, marked by work on color and material, in abstract landscapes, luminous, still lifes or scenes with characters. He breathes into his creations an undeniably "mystical" spirit, the fruit of his "pilgrimage trips" to the perched citadels, high Cathar places of Occitania, such as Montségur between 1986 /1990. It is also an intense period where the Luchon / Voiron Autumn Salons, group exhibitions, and personal exhibitions between Belley / Chambéry and Aix Les Bains / Tresserve follow one another.
From the 1990s, material difficulties no longer allow him to fully continue his pictorial adventure, he continues to express himself nevertheless on more modest supports: Isorel, cardboard, recycled paper. From these experiments the concept of the “Series” was born, such as the Series of signs “Tension (A) 1995”, and many other gouaches on kraft envelopes.
Following training and for a short period, he became a stonemason (another dream) which inspired abstract works treated with a house painter’s knife, like the works of Nicolas de Staël, this thunderstruck giant, whom he places at the top of his reference models.
“Art is the dream of humanity” said Romain Rolland… and to continue his dream, Alain invited himself into the pictorial world of the Old and Modern Masters, which he had loved since his first brushstrokes… From Poussin to Matisse, to the Braque Picasso tandem… He would later produce totally unusual works, such as the “Sculpture Paintings” as well as a “neo-cubist gallery” and studies for portraits of his favorite painters…
"Painting is an art, and art as a whole is not a creation without a goal that flows into the void. It is a power whose goal must be to develop and improve the human soul." Wassily Kandinsky
