The way we breathe without thinking of it, as a natural process to be in the process of living, same way art is natural process for me, what matters is the process of happening in the being. What comes out of my instinct, like instinct is leading me or I’m leading the instinct, like meeting the unknown and feeling it’s known.
At present I am using mixed media for my painting, such as Gold & silver leaf, beads, Bindi, carpet made of unused apparel waste, acrylic, semi-precious stones.
Materials like gold and silver I am using not because of its cost, I am using such materials because of its historical, traditional, political and social values.

Collages

Collage is an artistic creation technique that consists of making a plastic creation by combining elements of various kinds: more or less flat materials, such as printed oilcloth, painting or drawing, newspaper extracts with text and photos, paper paintings, documents, various objects of low relief, etc. When the creation incorporates elements in relief, one can also speak of assemblage. This also includes glued papers, which employ a variety of papers, including newspaper, and drawing techniques.

Technic Painting

Painting is an art form of painting on a surface by aesthetically applying colored fluids. Painters represent a very personal expression on supports such as paper, rock, canvas, wood, bark, glass, concrete and many other substrates. Work of representation or invention, painting can be naturalistic and figurative, or abstract. It can have narrative, descriptive, symbolic, spiritual, or philosophical content.

Ak Douglas

India

AK Douglas, born in India in 1979, has been a full-time artist for the past 20 years, excelling in painting, sculpture, and installation art. Throughout his career, he has actively participated in numerous prestigious national and international exhibitions, workshops, symposiums, and biennales across various countries, including India, Sweden, Norway, France, Italy, South Korea, and the UAE.

In recent years, notable highlights include his participation in the Sweden International Artist Symposium (2023), the 10th Cheongju International Contemporary Art Exhibition at Schema Museum in South Korea (2023), and multiple editions of the EXPLO3 Esposizione Collettiva Internazionale in Italy (2022, 2023).

Douglas held a solo exhibition at SPC Kunstrum Gallery, Copenhagen, Denmark, in 2020 and has been part of key group shows such as Ecriture de L’emotion at Galerie Ephemere, Art Contemporary Center Tignous, Montreuil, France (2021), and Open 7 at Magazzini Dell'Arte Contemporanea, Trapani, Italy (2020). In 2019, he showcased his work in the 9th Biennale de Sarria Salon International d'Art in Spain, and participated in residencies and exhibitions at the Maha Kumbh Mela, Prayagraj, and Allahabad Museum, India.

Douglas has also contributed to international artist residencies and fairs, including acting as the International Coordinator for the Dhanbad Art Fair (2019), and participating in the 2nd Bodhgaya Biennale (2018). His work has been exhibited in key venues such as Galerie Sonia Monti in Paris (2018) and The Retreat Hotel Palm Jumeirah in Dubai (2017).
