Massaranduba is a species of red wood exploited in the Brazilian "Nordeste" since the 16th century. The back of this plywood is made of massaranduba. I recently got this panel by a carpenter emptying his workshop.
The colonization of territories has always been linked to the colonization of bodies. The female body has suffered for centuries the same bruises inflicted by the West on the Amazon rainforest.
