Contemporary painter, registered with the Maison des Artistes since 2006, known and appreciated for her abstract works, Séverine Maigre, alias AERIN m. (Hellenia from 2003 to 2015) has devoted himself to his passion since 1999.
Born in Vichy in 1974, she discovered from childhood the wonderful world of colors which never ceased to fascinate her.
After a baccalaureate in Arts and Letters, she naturally moved towards artistic studies, first at the University of Plastic Arts of Saint-Étienne, then at the University of Montpellier III.
Sensitive to fantastic universes such as that of Zao Wou-Ki, Chagall or Tolkien, she creates worlds imbued with emotion and light.
His research, initially figurative, becomes clearer over the course of his pictorial evolution to present itself today in abstract paintings, whose mastery of composition and harmony of colors can only amaze.
Since 2016, always in communion with his nature and to give a new tone to the expression of his art, AERIN m. decided to make vegetable paper and add it to her paintings with the refinement of execution that characterizes her.
Passionate about photography, AERIN m. delights in these precious moments offered by existence, always on the lookout for the little hidden detail which she could appropriate and transform as she pleases. Fascinated by the surprising beauties of life, she seeks to capture improbable worlds, invisible at first glance, taken at a precise moment, shaped by light and her immediate environment.
Because man looks at his environment with a distracted and automatic eye, AERIN m. tries through her photographic research to get him to look attentively and beyond appearances..., but she also aims to confuse him to show him an unusual aspect of the elements which have been transformed through his lens... matter then reinvents itself and likes to be born in a different form, a new universe, a structure metamorphosed into a sublimated abstraction.
