Born in the picturesque village of Bağlıca, in the Boyabat district of Sinop (Turkey), in the heart of an autumn in 1969, ASKIN AYRANCIOGLU is an artist who evokes the charm of his native region through his creations. His artistic trajectory was woven from the first stages of his life. Primary school in the village, then middle school and high school at the free boarding school in Eskişehir helped shape his career. In 1991, he brilliantly completed the Painting Department of Ondokuzmayıs University of Samsun.
Since 1987, ASKIN AYRANCIOGLU has been passionately exploring painting, comics, photography, graphic design and artistic criticism. In 2000, he published a book of reviews entitled "Des Milliers d'Espoirs Tombant du Visage", followed in 2005 by a children's novel entitled "Chemin de l'Art-1 / La Voie de l'École Pensionnaire Gratuite".
His adventure in the world of comics began in 1987. Since then, he has won more than 100 awards in national and international comic competitions, and has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions, albums, newspapers and magazines. national and international magazines. His works can also be found in the comic strip museums of Yugoslavia, Cyprus, Turkey, Romania, the United States, Japan and Italy.
As publication director of Inat under the name "terrestrial humor", AYRANCIOGLU was acquitted in 2004 after two years of trial for his satirical cartoons criticizing crime and torture in his country. He continues to share his quick wit through his column "Cizduşun" in the literary and artistic magazine Sancı.
Jury member for many national and international comic strip competitions, ASKIN AYRANCIOGLU currently teaches "Visual Arts" in a boarding school, thus training future comic strip designers and painters.
In 2012, he was voted "Teacher of the Year" in Turkey. He was also honored with the title of "Best International Humor Artist" in China in 2017. Father of two children, a son named Daglar Umut and a daughter named Didar Askin, ASKIN AYRANCIOGLU continues to leave his unique mark on the artistic world. , creating a bridge between art and everyday life with his evocative work.
