About the Artist
Alina Shimova is a young and ambitious artist from Moscow, Russia.
Her artistic journey began in early childhood. At the age of 12, Alina joined art school, where she studied classical art for 5 years.
Being drawn to Russian classics, especially Aivazovsky, Alina was fortunate in studying for a long time with the famous modern artist - M. A. Satarov, whose works hang in the Kremlin.
With her classical paintings, she participated in many group exhibitions, and now many of her works are in private collections of Russian and European art collectors.
In 2018, Alina traveled to the United States. This journey radically changed the young artist 's perception of modern art and determined her further artistic direction.
American classics have become a compass on the way to a new, unique artistic style. She was inspired by their spirit of freedom and willingness to break the rules,
And create new horizons.
Alina was absolutely astonished by one of the main creative themes of modern American art — gender equality. The concept of a powerful woman inspired her to focus around the cult heroines, such as we can see in the marvel and DC film universe: in Alina's paintings, you can see them vivid colored, in flowing paint, but not in traditional costumes of the saviors of humanity.
Thus, Alina wants to express her own feelings, that under every superhero costume there is a living person — a woman who can be strong on the outside and vulnerable on the inside, have strength, but also fears, be a creator and destroyer.
In each of us, there's a little hero who's ready to break out and show his superpower. To make goals and achieve them. To make every dream come true.

The formation of Shimova's artistic style was influenced by the art of the United States, in particular pop art culture with its philosophy and technique of performance, designed for a mass audience. In general, Shimova was inspired by the spirit of freedom, was able to move away from the canons and reveal herself from a new side.
Shimova has taken part in many group exhibitions from 2015 to the present. Now many of her works are in private collections of Russian and European art collectors. Her work has also been exhibited at the Bruce Gallery in the United States.
In 2021, her personal exhibition "SUPERWONAN" was held in Moscow. Representatives of the media, the public, and statesmen were invited to it. After the exhibition, articles were published in which critics praised Shimova's speech before the opening of the exhibition, the paintings and the good organization of the event.
Now Shimova is painting on a serie of animalistic works. She is the vice-president of the international union of animal painters and is involved in charity work. Part of the money from the sale of paintings goes to animal welfare funds.
Also the NFT-project about bitcoins is in process, the main theme of which is the connection between art and technology. Shimova is also currently working on a series of works inspired by the work of Liechtenstein. The main object of these works is the Beauty of men.
