This piece was created by welding around 1000 small steel rods and a couple hundred varied sized steel discs together. It is the first piece where I tried to “clothe” the figure. She stands 34 inches tall x 20 inches wide x 12 inches deep and is mounted on a steel plate thats 16 inches x 12.25 inches so she can stand with grace. She weighs 46.2 pounds.
To me the artist:
When I was much younger,,, MUCH younger, I worked at a topples bar for a couple years and some of the images and girls kinda stuck in my mind. There was a girl who I mentally dubbed “ bubbles “ due to her rather large “ attributes “. She was an extremely sweet girl and her personality was also very bubbly. I just decidied to make the piece because I was feeling nostalgic and remembered the fun times I had while working there and wanted to make somewhat of a physical memory of those times. Exotic dancers tend to get a bad rap but many were their just to support their family or pursue higher education and cover the costs without backbreaking student loans. I have kept up with “ bubbles” over the years and can tell you she now owns and operates her own veterinary clinic.
