It all started with the global cow. My illustration, where on the body of the cow, there is a map of the world from spots, and above, as if gods are seated, "divine ladybugs," which creates some allusion to theocratic relationships. The cow is considered a sacred animal by most of the world, and in the CIS countries, a divine ladybug is a cute beetle. The point is that the illustration has spread so widely and so many people have taken it as prints and asked about it that Pavel Khodorovich and I made a painting called "local cow" and sold it within a week. There were also mini-versions, and "alien cow," we made when I was taking the rest of the paintings to Berlin to show foreignness, plus its strange facial expression. Interestingly, I always managed to skillfully and accurately depict the cow's face, but in this work, it is alien and strange.
