Ich wusste schon mit dreizehn, dass ich Künstlerin werden möchte. Nach dem Besuch einer Fachschule für Bildhauerei in Innsbruck/Tirol begann ich mit achtzehn als Restauratorin zu arbeiten. Besonders liebte ich die Wandmalerei, aber auch Skulpturenfassungen und Altarrestaurierungen waren wichtige Schwerpunkte. Von 1996 bis 2002 studierte ich dann Malerei & Grafik in Wien. Die ersten zwei Jahre an der Universität für Angewandte Kunst, dann an der Akademie der bildenden Künste Wien bei Renée Green. Mein Diplom erhielt ich im Juli 2002. Es folgten intensive Reisejahre. Ich malte dokumentarische Reiseerzählungen, vor allem in alpinen Regionen. Ich arbeitete in Nepal, Tibet, Grönland und in den Alpen. Durch das Beobachten von Gesellschaften und von anderen Kulturen wurde die figürliche Malerei dann immer wichtiger für mich: Ich interessiere mich für das Wie und Warum von gesellschaftlichen Prozessen und Gruppenverhalten, für das Aufeinanderprallen und die Gleichzeitigkeit verschiedener Lebensrealitäten, für Identitätssuchen.
Alle meine Arbeiten haben mit Erzählung zu tun, ich streife durch die Stadt oder sammle Beobachtungen auf Wanderungen und Reisen – aus diesen Materialien entstehen dann meine, wie ich sie nenne, „Artnografien“, es sind Essenzen des menschlichen Treibens, Strebens, Hoffens und sie berichten von der Suche nach einer besseren Welt.
