Aleksandra Wójcicka

Artistic creation, for me, is a formal manifestation of extrasensory feelings, bringing the absent to life through an image. It is not so much the presentation of what is perceived, but what is "thought" by moving from a purely sensual level to an abstract level, involving the representation of an object in a dialectical contradiction. 

After all, as Heidegger claims, a work of art is a created thing, but this material element is also included in the artistic experience. A work of art, however, goes beyond the material element. Although it exists through a thing created by the artist, it also expresses something else, more than the naked thing. A work of art touches, reveals, acquaints us with something different - an allegory. In the work of art, that something is brought into contact with the created thing. The work of art is a symbol.
