Unique limited edition work.
Hand modeled with a white clay and fired using Japanese Raku technique by the ceramic artist Urszula Despet.
The Raku technique is when glazed ceramics are taken from the kiln while they are still glowing red hot and then placed with special tonges in a box with the material that would be able to catch fire. I used sawdust. This starves the piece of oxygen. As a result of the thermal shock are fine crack lines appear all over the surface and turquoise, green and copper shades. This kind of firing creates unique design everythime.
