Née en 1978 à Nantes, Julia Saludo suit de 1998 à 2003 des études de communication visuelle à l’école de Design Créapole à Paris, apprenant dans son ensemble les règles typographiques et la sémiologie de l’image. C’est lors d’un voyage à Sydney en Australie, en 2003, qu’elle vit son premier coup de foudre photographique en immortalisant les arbres du Royal Botanique Garden. Depuis 2003, elle développe un travail artistique. Les illustrations qu’elle crée par le biais du photomontage, relèvent d’un principe de superposition, de claques et de transparence d’éléments qu'elle photographie. « La photographie est pour moi, le moyen le plus fidèle de capter le réel, pour mieux pouvoir le transformer par le biais du photomontage», confit-elle. A travers un jeu de miroir entre l’écriture poétique et l’image, s’entremêlent les thèmes qui lui sont chers : l’amour, la mort, la maladie et le sommeil. Les éléments qu’elle met en scène sont le corps humain, le végétal, l’animal, le squelette ainsi que le fossile. Enfin, son travail retranscrit un univers imaginaire où l’intime fusionne avec l’existant afin de questionner le vivant. Entre 2010 et 2014, cinq ouvrages voient le jour avec la maison d’édition Ynox Paris. De 2014 à 2016, deux livres sont publiés avec la maison d'édition Jean-Fabien G. Phinera. En 2019, un recueil mêlant photographies et poésies est édité chez Corridor Éléphant
