Rowell Tyson

Rowell Tyson is a senior member of the Royal Society of British Artists and an Associate of the Royal College of Art. He studied painting at the Tunbridge Wells School of Art, Beckenham School of Art and the Royal College of Art where he was awarded a fourth year Continuation Scholarship. He served in the Royal Navy, 1944-1946.

He has exhibited widely, at the Royal Academy, The Royal Scottish Academy, The Royal Society of British Artists, The Royal Society of Marine Artists, The Royal Institute of Oil Painters and in private galleries in London and the provinces.

His paintings are included in the collections of Arthur Andersen & Co., The Qatar National Bank, Merrill Lynch, The Institute of Directors, Sumicorp Finance Ltd., Paxus, Kent County Council, Carlisle City Art Gallery, Leicester Education Committee, Lopex, Miles Laboratories, Shell, and private collections in the U.K., U.S.A., Belgium, Spain, Saudi Arabia and New Zealand.

His work is included in the book on 20th Century British Marine Painting by Denys Brook-Hart.
