My art is created to convey the unity that everyday objects share with our natural world. Most of us do not consider manufactured objects to be part of Nature, like a waterfall or a pine tree, but separate somehow because they are made by humans. Our perspective on this matter causes us to believe we are separate from the world and therefore all human artifacts are separate as well. I believe that this implied separation is one of the reasons that we are not mindful of the impact on the environment of our various endeavors. Through my art I am essentially trying to show that manufactured items are one with the Earth, in no way separate, and a reminder that we as individuals are not separate either.
