Papel maché moldado e esculpido a mão livre. Policromia característica do estilo e técnica do artista.
Esta peça me sugeriu depois de moldada, os elmos que os antigos samurais utilizavam em suas vestimentas características. Carrancas cheias de caretas e feiura para afugentar quem ousasse enfrenta-los.
A mim, suponho um desafio, como a esfinge propõe, “encara-me, enxerga-me ou devoro-te”.
THE ORIENTAL – Work 01
Paper mache molded and sculpted freehand. Polychrome characteristic of the artist's style and technique.
This piece suggested to me, after molding, the helmets that the ancient samurai used in their characteristic clothes. Scowls full of grimaces and ugliness to scare away anyone who dared to face them.
For me, it is a challenge, as the sphinx proposes, “face me, see me or I will devour you”.
