Randy A Bennett Art
I have been, and will continue to be, a painter all my life. I have worked exclusively in oils since I was 14 years of age. I am now 56. I remember, as a child, seeing a Salvador Dali painting in a book. It was disturbing and exciting and it changed my entire outlook. It was at that moment that I realized what I thought art could and should be.
I think art should challenge the viewer. Great art cannot be passive. The only meaning a painting can have is that which it pulls from the viewer.
My paintings are journeys, both in their creation and in their interpretation. The viewer gives them meaning, and meaning gives them life.
