Gérard Michel is een hedendaagse Franse autodidactische schilder, geboren in Nice in 1942. Zijn passie voor tekenen en kleur bloeide op jonge leeftijd, waardoor hij na het voltooien van zijn studie drie jaar lang een vervolgopleiding volgde aan de School voor Decoratieve Kunst in Nice. .
Na zijn artistieke opleiding begon Gérard een carrière bij verschillende ontwerpbureaus voordat hij uiteindelijk zijn eigen bureau oprichtte. Tijdens zijn professionele reis heeft hij zijn vaardigheden aangescherpt en verschillende schilderstijlen onderzocht, waaronder figuratieve kunst, portretkunst, naïeve kunst en bloemmotieven.
