This sculpture was made in commission as a present to a father who had lost his daughter to a very tragic illness. It symbolises the father/daughter relation, the security of their infinite love. Both were strong, independent and full of life, bound by blood and a rock solid love for each other.

Hallo! Ik ben Nick Vermeulen, gemaakt in 1959.

In 2012 nam ik voor het eerst deel aan een speksteen-workshop wat mij ongelooflijk enthousiast maakte voor driedimensionaal werken. In de 10 jaren daarna heb ik iets van 60 beelden en beeldjes geproduceerd en al met al ben ik allengs bezig aan een tweede carrière als beeldend kunstenaar. 

Ik exposeer regelmatig, dit jaar bijvoorbeeld ook in het Cotswold Sculpture Parc, in Engeland, maar ook gewoon bij exposities in Breda, Oosterhout en omgeving. 

Dit jaar ben ik gestart met kleine workshops in speksteen en albast gericht op het maken van torso’s.
