Biography
Misha Lenn is an internationally acclaimed, award-winning artist who has developed a very distinctive style of watercolor painting. The complex patterns of Klimt, the elegance and grace of Degas, the romantic verve of Renoir, technical command of Monet and the vibrant energy of Toulouse Lautrec has been his primary influences. We recognize their influence in his works as he combines elegant brush strokes with dazzling watercolor. Impressionism permeates his work.
At a very early age while studying music, Misha found that he had an inclination to draw. He made the switch and has not looked back since. Misha's musical interest still manifests itself in his jazz piano playing in his spare time, and also appears in his art in the form of musical scores collaged into his paintings an element that has become his artistic trademark.
Misha received his Masters degree from the prestigious Academy of Art and Design in St. Petersburg, Russia. Misha has had numerous solo exhibitions and his watercolor paintings can be found in private and museum collections in the United States, Russia, Germany, Canada, France, Sweden, Spain, Israel and Monaco. Misha has won numerous awards for his logo designs and watercolors.
His prestigious list of clients includes Calvin Klein, DKNY, Harvard University, Boston Symphony Orchestra, Boston Ballet, Time Magazine, Westminster Kennel Club, Godiva Chocolatier, just to name a few.
Misha is active in supporting a variety of charitable causes and often donates his works for fundraising auctions and events. In the midst of all of his successes, however, he still finds the time to teach.

Augmento Style
Augmento” (Latin for ‘growth’) is a trend in art that emerged in the second decade of the XXI century. The main idea of the style is the sequential addition/removal of different layers of images (information) as a method of creating an additional reality. Multilayered works create the illusion of shimmering graphics, where images and meanings are in dialog with each other.
Augmento technique originally emerged as a linear graphics, the main characteristic of which was the mixing of lines and transformation of the depicted characters and objects, the flow of one information into another. Artwork in the Augmento style is an allegory of reality, taking the viewer into augmented reality by layering a “web” of lines on semi-realistic images. “Poetry in motion” is a characteristic feature of the established style.
The founder of the Augmento style is the renowned watercolor artist Mischa Lenn, who pioneered the exploration of image space with changing emotional and visual content. Linear images serve as the basic theme upon which variations in graphic development are strung. The style formed naturally from the many trends that preceded it. These include Klimt's eroticism, Picasso's linear graphics, Beardsley's English aestheticism, and Escher's infinity plastic and metamorphosis.
Usually an artist depicts the world around him at one time, but Augmento's approach is radically different from traditional approaches and consists of two main stages. The first stage is the perception of the reality of what is seen/imagined and putting it on a plane. Already this stage can be a finished work.The second stage is the perception from the already depicted perception (meta-perception), during the creation of which there is a new development of the plot. Unexpected turns of relationships are layered on top of each other, sometimes independently changing the content of the picture.It is a combination of temporal and visual layers - what was, is and will be, reality and unreality at the same time.
Augmento is characterized by exotic expression in graphics, combining symbolism with erotic plasticity. The dance of lines, connection of light and depth, past and future, graphic saga - all this combination of feelings and states awakens reflection in people, leading to knowledge of oneself.Thus, the creator is not only the artist, but also the viewer as a participant in the creation of the story in his imagination.
