in realizing this artwork, I sought to capture the ephemeral beauty of nature and its intrinsic connection to the human experience. The pastels express sweetness and fragility, while my expressionist and figurative style reinforce the symbolic nature of the drawing. The leaves surrounding the figure not only adorn, but also symbolize growth, rebirth and the perpetual cycle of life. This work will instill serenity and profound contemplation in every environment in which it is placed.

The work is made with soft pastels on Pastelmat cardboard and is covered with a protective layer of fixative.
The original work will be sold without a frame and will be shipped carefully protected by crystal paper and packaged with polystyrene in a special flat cardboard box, and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.

Born in Massa Lubrense, Maria Romano initially attended the Art School of Sorrento before embarking on a journey abroad in 1997. Upon her return to Italy, Maria seamlessly resumed her artistic pursuits, focusing on studying the intricate features of the human face and experimenting with various techniques, particularly pastels, mixed media, and oil painting.

As an artist, Maria believes in the gradual and continuous growth of her craft. Driven by an innate impulse to create, she meticulously selects and mixes colors, guided by an intangible force that seems to permeate the very air around her as she paints. While her art often reflects elements of realism, Maria is not confined by its constraints.
