Nichts gegen Pressspan, aber Produkte aus ursprüngliche Materialien werden immer seltener. Es hatte mich daher inspiriert etwas sehr stabiles schweres und fast unzerstörbares herzustellen wie in mittelalterlichen Burgen aber vereint mit dem veremeindlichen Kontrast der moderene Stadt.
So besteht die Tischplatte aus 10cm dicken Massivholzbalken eingefasst und gebändigt von 6mm starken geschweißten Stahlmanschetten. Zwei Stangen die quer durch die
Holzbalken verschraubt sind, geben noch besondere Stabilität und unterstreichen den
robusten Look. Getragen wird das ganze von originalen Trägern aus dem Stahlbau mit echter Patina und teilweise Graffiti resten. Sie wurden passend zu dem wuchtigen Massivholz ausgesucht und sind sogleich ein schöner
Kontrast zu der spiegelglatten Oberfläche der Tischplatte.
Das Holz ist gehobelt, geschliffen, geflammt und mit Klarlack versiegelt.
Die Stahlmanschetten schwarz lackiert.

Niente contro i pannelli truciolari, ma i prodotti realizzati con materiali originali stanno diventando sempre più rari. Mi sono sentito quindi ispirato a creare qualcosa di molto stabile, pesante e quasi indistruttibile, come nei castelli medievali, ma combinato con l'apparente contrasto della città moderna.
Il piano del tavolo è costituito da travi in legno massello spesse 10 cm, incorniciate e mantenute da manicotti in acciaio saldati spessi 6 mm. Due pali che attraversano il

aspetto robusto. Il tutto è sorretto da supporti in acciaio originali con vera patina e qualche residuo di graffiti. Sono stati selezionati per abbinarsi al massiccio legno massello e sono una bellissima
In contrasto con la superficie liscia come uno specchio del piano del tavolo.
Il legno viene piallato, levigato, fiammato e sigillato con vernice trasparente.
I polsini in acciaio sono verniciati di nero.
The Real Steel coffee table is the counterpart to veneered chipboard.
Nothing against chipboard, but products made from original materials are becoming increasingly rare. I was therefore inspired to make something very stable, heavy and almost indestructible, like in medieval castles, but combined with the apparent contrast of the modern city.
The table top is made of 10cm thick solid wood beams, framed and tamed by 6mm thick welded steel collars. Two rods that are screwed across the
wooden beams give extra stability and underline the
robust look. The whole thing is supported by original supports from the steel construction with real patina and some graffiti residue. They were selected to match the massive solid wood and are a nice
contrast to the mirror-smooth surface of the table top.
The wood is planed, sanded, flamed and sealed with clear varnish.
The steel collars are painted black.
