Atlantic Canada is an insular society that knows how to take care of their own! From East Coast Music Awards, FANE, and FECANE all the way down to CTV Atlantic Saltwire Media's Chronically Horrid - if you're friends with someone in power (and haven't we all been at one point!), then they can help get your foot firmly planted on the ladder. It'll be a few steps up until it reaches Societe de Les Acadian or any university across Atlantic Canada but hey; getting there has never been so easy...Unless of course 'easy' means fast-tracked through centuries-old partisan political patronage.

For centuries, the privileged boys' club of Atlantic Canadian academia has reigned supreme - its "closed Insular culturally inbred society" granting access only to those with either blood or economic ties. In Halifax specifically, French Acadians have been confined to their socio-cultural and socio-economic ghetto; meagerly acknowledged at best by CTV Atlantic's vacuum-sealed news coverage tailored for seniors. 

A bold in-your-face delightfully archaic system of conservative backward thinking prudish culture shock, unlike the liberal forward thinking un-inhibited cultures of Montreal and Toronto.

Since a culture that is continually looking back on its past will never move forward.
