Channeling Isadora
Salmagundi 47 5th Ave New ork, New York
Angela Isadora Duncan (May 26 or 27, 1877 – September 14, 1927) was an American dancer.
Born in California, she lived in Western Europe and the Soviet Union from the age of 22 until her death at age 50. She performed to acclaim throughout Europe.
Duncan took inspiration from ancient Greece and combined it with an American love of freedom. This is exemplified in her revolutionary costume of a white Grecian tunic and bare feet.
This piece is now on display at Salmagundi in New York City until Aug 28,2015.
