Leonid Zikeev was born in 1944 in the former USSR. From 1959 to1963 Leonid studied at the Kursk Colledge of Arts. In the period from 1963 to 1969 he continued his study at the Leningrad ( now St. Petersburg) Pepin Academy of Arts, at the faculty of painting.
In 1991 he immigrated to Israel and since that time he has lived in Safed. Leonid has deen a member of Israel Painters’ and Sculptors’ Association. Leonid specializes in oil and watercolor painting and in different techniques of graphic art including etching (steel,zinc,
copper), lithography and others.

Leonid Zikeev began to exhibit his works in 1970. By the present time he has performed five one person exhibitions. Such as Museum of F. Dostoevsky, Staraya Russa Russia(1985);
Art Museum of Novgorod, Russia (1990); Taller Gallery Fort,Cadaques,Barcelona,Spain
(1995); the General Exhibition-Art Gallery,Safed (1998). He also took part in numerous
Fourteen exhibitions both in the former USSR, Sweden, Finland, Norway,Poland,Canada,
USA, Spain,Yugoslaviya, India and others.

His works can be found in museums in Russia: Museums of F.Dostoevsky, Staraya Russa,
St. Petersburg and Semipalatinsk; Museum of Nekrasov,St. Petersburg; Novgorod Arts
Museum; Kursk Art Gallery after Dayneka; The Engraving Cabinets in the National Library, Moscow and St. Petersburg. Also one can find his works at Public Collections in
Israel , in Spain and in many private collections throughout the word.

In 1994 Leonid was awarded prize for the best etching Mini Print International, Barcelona
Spain. In 1997 he was awarded a Diploma of Art Addiction-International Gallery of Stockholm, Sweden. In 2006 he was awarded a Diploma of Art – The Third Biennial of
Graphics 2006,St. Petersburg.
