This is one of my portraits of the Transylvanian prince Dracula.
In the corner of the picture is the sign of an eight-pointed star above the crescent: this is an ancient magical symbol that is associated with the image of the Dragon in some interpretations of occult symbolism.
In all the images in the portraits, I pursue a very important goal - the search for some inner grain, the spirit of the person I portray.
In all the portraits of Dracula that I created, there is a clear resemblance to several of his types and images at once on various engravings, monuments and paintings at various times.
However, I take only the main features.
I reset his age a bit and try to see him in my own way.
I observe all the main features of appearance, but I present them in a more natural manner.
I do not follow a rigid stereotype and do not try to copy any picture. I do what an artist does, who creates an image of someone from a verbal description, and only then I add elements of the external image.
And really, think carefully.
All artists paint portraits in different ways, even when it comes to the same person. And this means that it is naive to believe that all his portraits are really photographically accurate.
And if I just copy some picture with his image, you will praise me, but there will still be nothing special in my work. It will be just some kind of copy, and that's it. But a copy of what? Or rather, who?
Have you personally met Prince Dracula? No? I thought so.
That is why I create his image as a little fantasy.
However, there is something to think about here. After all, I rely on many images and create a fairly similar composite image of his appearance. And this image really fits the basic description of what he really was.
In this work, I even imitate engraving a little.
I have a very complex pedigree, from the Far East to Western Europe and the Romanian lands in particular. And for me the image of Prince Dracula is especially close. And with my work, I pay tribute to him.

Дракула. Под знаком Дракона
Это один из моих портретов трансильванского князя Дракула.
В углу картины знак восьмиконечной звезды над полумесяцем: это древний магический символ, который связан с образом Дракона в некоторых трактовках оккультной символики.
Во всех образах на портретах я преследую очень важную цель - поиск некого внутреннего зерна, духа того, кого я изображаю.
Во всех портретах Дракулы,которые я создала, чётко прослеживается сходство сразу с несколькими его типажами и образами на разных гравюрах, памятниках и картинах в самое разное время.
Однако я беру только основные черты.
Я немного сбрасываю его возраст и пытаюсь увидеть его по своему.
Все основные черты внешности я соблюдаю, но подаю их в более естественной манере.
Я не соблюдаю жёсткий стереотип и не стараюсь копировать какую-либо картину. Я поступаю так, как делает художник, который создаёт чей-то образ по словесному описанию, а уже потом добавляю элементы внешнего образа.
И в самом деле, хорошо подумайте.
Все художники пишут портреты по разному даже тогда, когда речь идёт об одном и том же человеке. А это значит, что наивно полагать, что все его портреты так уж действительно фотографически точны.
И если я просто скопирую какую-то картину с его изображением, вы меня похвалите, но ничего особенного в моей работе всё равно не будет. Это будет просто какая-то копия, и всё. Но копия чего? А вернее, кого?
Вы лично встречали князя Дракулу? Нет? Я так и думала.
А потому я создаю его образ, как немного фэнтезийный.
Однако тут есть над чем задуматься.
Ведь я опираюсь на многие изображения и создаю достаточно схожий сборный образ его внешности. И этот образ действительно подходит под основное описание того, каким он был в действительности.
В данной работе я даже немного подражаю гравировке.
У меня очень сложная родословная, от Дальнего Востока до Западной Европы и Румынских земель в частности. И для меня образ князя Дракулы особо близок. И своими работами я воздаю ему дань уважения.
