"Nostalgia in Packaging"

This work is part of a series of graphic sketches of everyday artifacts from the post-Soviet space, demonstrating my perspective on familiar objects.
For this piece, I used an expressive technique combining colored pencils and oil pastels. I wanted to bring to life the packaging of sunflower seeds, transforming it from a consumer product into a symbol of childhood, warm family evenings, and leisurely conversations.

The deformed outlines and textured shading convey a sense of gentle naivety and handcrafted quality, creating a tactile impression — as if we're looking at a crumpled package rather than a drawing. The zipper element adds an ironic surrealistic touch, hinting at a play with the object's function.

The work blends seamlessly with others in this series, which explores themes of simple joys, the visual language of advertising, and collective memory.

This collection (10 artworks in total) is not just a set of drawings, but a subtle artistic exploration of everyday life, capable of resonating with viewers who grew up in a consumer culture with a distinctly national flavor.
