Jérôme Cavailles

Fallen into it when I was little, great-grandson of the art brut sculptor "Salingardes l'Aubergiste", from a family of antique dealers and art collectors, I was brought up in the middle of beautiful objects. After studying art in Albi and then in Toulouse, I decided to set up as an antique dealer in Cordes-sur-Ciel, my home village. I never stopped painting and looking for my way. Passionate about patina, I have always sought to develop techniques to artificially age or highlight the age and history of objects and other furniture that I hunt for. Compulsive bargain hunter, objects of all kinds have been accumulating in my home for years, it was when I stumbled upon a work by Ron Pippin that I had a revelation! Since that day, everything is enlightened in me, and a kind of creative bulimia has taken hold of me.
