Jacques Leroy

Born in Eure-et-Loir in 1965, I was attracted as a child by drawing and gouache, where I could stay for hours copying out pieces of comic strips.
In 1999 I took lessons with a hyperrealist artist from the Flemish school, then jointly at the Museum of Fine Arts in my region.
Three years that allowed me to refine the proportions of the subject, the perspectives, the shadows and lights in the compositions. After having explored the figurative and the color for several years, research in abstraction is now the world in which I evolve.
My investigation is to deepen in this vast communication of what can come out, emerge, be born from the spirit, be in permanent connection with the support, the canvas, in order to transcribe what flows in me at the moment of creation.
At the same time, nature is the inexhaustible source in my inspirations in which my pictorial exploration wanders.
