Nothing is what it seems.

Heinz Wilhelm Katzenmeier was born in Germany in 1963. Today he lives and works in Switzerland. Katzenmeier studied chemistry and specializes in research and innovation.

Katzenmeier began creating art during his studies and the first works were created in the 1990s. His work, inspired by biology, chemistry and modern physics, often includes unusual materials such as metal powder, sulphur, graphite as well as interference and luminous pigments. In combination with wax, tar, ink-jet, watercolor and acrylic paints, strong, expressive, fascinating, often mystical pictorial worlds are created that allow plenty of room for imagination and allow the viewer to glimpse a hidden reality.

Besides writing is Katzenmeier's second passion. With Hole World he realized the long-cherished idea of a somewhat different science thriller. And like his art, «Hole World» is also inspired by themes of modern physics.

Katzenmeier's pictures have a clear line, a clear character. They are tense, expressive, at times mystical. Every picture speaks a universal language. The view is focused on the essentials. His pictures often generate tension from incompatibilities between different materials or chemical and physical reactions.
