Based in the beautiful Berkshire Mountains in Western Massachusetts, I paint cats in both anthropomorphic and more natural poses, in a naive self-taught style of glazed oil painting that I have developed over a period of about 30 years.
Paintings, prints and cards are available in my Etsy shop, and the best way to follow my newest work and announcements is to sign up for my Facebook page. Links to these are on my Links page.
In what seems like another life, I also worked as an archaeologist for many years and have a degrees in anthropology and American Civilization. I love old houses, vintage household goods, needlework, color, animals and just about anything that is handmade with love and care.

Almost all of my paintings are oil on stretched canvas. I use a glazing technique in which thin layers of color are laid over each other resulting in jewel-like intense color and the soft look that I like.

La peinture animalière est votre source d'inspiration et tout particulièrement les chats qui sont sûrement vos animaux de compagnie . C'est une belle collection .
Hi I have three of your paintings that I bought on ebay. I was wondering if you could put Charlie and Beach Peas on this site. I bought that painting from you on ebay. I'm also the owner of Pearl's Debut. God bless her little heart. Anyway Charlie and the Beach Peas would make a great e-card since he seems to be everybody's favorite and I think it was one of your first Charlie paintings when he was a kitten. Happy 2008 Debra
Wow! I am a cat lover and artist to boot. You have captured such wonderful cat moments. The color and movement in your work is truely inspiring.
Thank you!
Hi Heidi,
Googled your name out of curiosity and was introduced to a wonderful world of fantastic cat (and others) art. Your creations are wonderful! I am very impressed!
I am the proud owner of many of your "treasures". Your Charlie and my Bert have very similar spirts! I am grateful to have your work in my home. It makes me smile and it brightens each day. My best to you--as you continue to create these charming, wonderful pieces.
I check your eBay store everyday to see what's new. Your cat paintings are charming and heart-warming; your lovable subjects make me smile and chuckle. I wish you continued success with your painting auctions. Thanks for the enjoyment!
Heidi,I was so excited to see my treasure- "Bathtime for Bengals" on the E-cards, that I immediately sent one to my husband and father for Father's day! I love your paintings, and was so lucky to buy mine last year when I could still afford one. Best wishes from one former Dean supporter and cat lover to another, and for a big win in November for a better world!
Dear Heidi,I bought one of your painting of Matilda and Chutzpah, curled up together asleep back in 2001. I have placed it in my office and it still gives me great pleasure looking at it every day when I step into my room.Thank you very much for that and hopefully I will be able to add some of your latest work to my collection soon.
I absolutely LOVE your work!! I am a big cat lover and I have seen at least one of my cats in each of your paintings. You use such beautiful, vibrant colors too! Keep up the wonderful work!
