This is the only print on that famous Illustration "Lilliput 89-93, Fury Road" - Série LiLLIPUT (1989)

Remember that this character, carefully developed, was invented in 1989, for one of my renderings in graphic art and illustration at 'Penninghen', in the 1st year of preparation. He immediately defined himself as obvious to me by his muscular appearance and a sly glance - a big fan of the comic books of my childhood. As a tribute to Jack Kirby (born Jacob Kurtzberg), to Stan Lee and also to Jean Frisano.

I sublimated a super hero...failing and without much power other than to be aware of it.

The imposed title of this very first 'Lilliput' rendering in 1989 was then "Lilliput 93" (under a new etiquette I literally posed on). - Its subject, through the Myth of Lilliput, was to deal with the Franco-English rapprochement of the time, through the Channel Tunnel, between Paris and London, with the flags, French and British, an action located Place de the Red Cross, near Caesar's Centaur ...as well as other imposed points to be included.

From then on, Lilliput will grow with me... But who is he?

A superhero, without power therefore but in full awareness of things and choices, of a life. A naked being facing the world, but adorned, brave and muscular. With a strong temperament whose one-eyed head would be the awareness of a seized spirit, of these reckless, intrepid or lucid choices of those who forge a life. A living protagonist, suffering, enjoying, even undergoing, but recounting in paintings and illustrations, his views from a distance that have become autobiographical episodes.

Lilliput advances through picturesque situations and thundering events, inevitably leading her to confrontations, imaginary or real, but then posing us as voyeurs.
