The piece explores the brutal cost of queenship in a patriarchal world—where survival meant sacrificing everything, even one's own sister, for the throne. Mary and Elizabeth, bound by blood yet divided by power, were both victims of a system that saw them as threats rather than sovereigns.
Created with rich oil textures, the raised paint technique highlights Mary’s gown and Elizabeth’s letter, adding depth and emotion. Light and shadow contrast to symbolize the inescapable fate of a queen in a world that never truly belonged to her. More than a portrait, this painting is a statement on the cost of power and the women who paid the ultimate price.

The characters I portray are bold, rebellious, and unapologetic—much like the quotes I incorporate into my paintings. These quotes aren't just decorative; they reflect my belief in the power of irreverence and honesty. I firmly believe that a bit of audacity, along with my own truth, are crucial in sparking conversation and provoking thought.
