Ze vertrok naar Barcelona en begon aan haar eerste kunstproject ´Barcelona Districts´ waar ze elk district ontdekte en er grote kleurige schilderijen van maakte.

In haar tweede collectie werd Karlijn geïnspireerd door Monet en de impressionisten en verbeeldde ze haar emoties door kleurige en poëtische onderwaterlandschappen.

Een volgend project is de ´Barcelona Lockdown´ serie, waarbij ze geïnspireerd werd door het voyeurisme van Edward Hopper tijdens de Corona-pandemie.
