Having previously showcased his work in London under the pseudonym ‘Rhed’, new reports suggest Rocco is now exhibiting his paintings across the pond

When it came out that Rocco Ritchie, the 22-year-old son of Madonna and Guy Ritchie, had been painting under the name "Rhed," it was a big surprise. He now shows his work on Instagram under the name "Maison Rhed." Since then, Richard Eden of the Daily Mail says that the young artist has opened an exhibition in Los Angeles. His work is on display at the Hollywood salon Andy LeCompte, which is owned by the man who cuts Madonna's hair.

Rhed established himself as an expressionist painter

Ritchie has established himself as an expressionist painter with a number of shows at the Tanya Baxter Contemporary gallery in Chelsea, west London. He paints the human form with thick layers of oil and loose brushstrokes. He is said to be influenced by artists like Banksy, who may have planted the idea of anonymity. He has said that he is "fascinated by the inner and outer worlds, especially where they meet." The message of his paintings is that "there is beauty in the struggle of life." He has been quoted as saying that there is more beauty when life is hard than when it is easy. He also recently said that his parents, Madonna and Guy Ritchie, helped him become an artist by raising him in a "creative household." This is according to the Mail.

The artist used a pseudonym to show his natural talent

The artist turned down his parents' connections and used a fake name to show off his natural talent. His paintings often sell for up to five figures. Before Page Six revealed who Rocco was, they were said to be for sale for $24,000. Last summer, both of his parents went to see his show at the gallery on King's Road. It got a lot of attention from the media, but the public didn't know who the real artist was. Guy and his wife, Jacqui Ainsley, as well as Madonna and her boyfriend, Ahlamalik Williams, 27, and their adopted children, Mercy, and David, came to the outdoor party. During Art Basel in Miami, there was also a private dinner for his work. Ritchie's work has been compared to that of Jean-Michel Basquiat and Banksy by the King's Road gallery, and he has received several good reviews, including one from Mervyn Davies, a former chair of the Royal Academy. Davies told the Guardian, "Good artists are those who can turn energy into something beautiful that speaks to the eye." "Anyone can be a painter, but the important thing is to make people think and feel."
