About the author
In 2018, following a layover in South Africa and thanks to the insistence of persuasive friends, Jean-Jacques Mendez gradually returned to drawing and then painting. From that point on, despite the invisible aftermath of an accident that occurred in 2009, he gradually devoted himself to this passion that had originated much earlier from his artistic background and career as an independent graphic designer and art director in various agencies.
Since then, he constantly strives to push the boundaries of his imagination and dedicates his days to acrylic painting. After a series of landscapes with a more classic style, he now develops a concept of stripes, where multicolored horizontal stripes run parallel, sculpting the canvas and adorning it with subtle harmonies, small characters, and improbable skies.
